Heat Illness Prevention

EMPLOYEES

Employees that work in areas where environmental risk factors for heat illness are present are at risk for developing heat illnesses if they do not protect themselves appropriately.  The objective of this program is employee awareness regarding heat illness symptoms, ways to prevent illness, and what to do if symptoms occur. This program is in compliance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 3395 and Section 3396.

The purpose of this program is to ensure that all employees on the San Diego State University campus are protected from heat illness; to reduce the risk of work-related heat illness; and to establish the minimum requirements for working in this environment.
