Fall 2019 Alternative Consultation

The Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC), comprised of a majority of students, is overseeing the Fall 2019 alternative consultation process for proposed increases to the Student Health & Wellness Fee and the Instructionally Related Activities Fee. CFAC recommended, and President de la Torre approved, the use of the alternative consultation process for these proposed fee increases.

The alternative consultation process is used for complex issues that benefit from a presentation outlining the breadth of services provided and the impact on students. More specifically, CFAC determined that open forum presentations would be the best way to engage our campus community in meaningful dialogue about the proposed fee increases.

CFAC is scheduling open forums beginning in late-October and running through mid-November to explain the proposed fee increases, engage in conversation, and answer questions. Students will have the opportunity to provide feedback during the forums by completing a feedback form, which includes selecting an option for the two fees and providing written comments if you'd like to share additional perspectives with CFAC. CFAC will review the feedback forms, engage in committee discussions, and make a recommendation to the President as to whether or not either of the fee increases should be approved.

CFAC will meet on Friday, November 22nd at 11am in Montezuma Hall to make recommendation to President de la Torre on the two proposed fees. This meeting is open to SDSU students, faculty and staff. Please bring your SDSUcard as you will need to present it at check-in to attend this meeting. There will be an opportunity for public comment prior to CFAC engaging in committee discussions.

PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS MUST BRING VALID REDID CARDS TO FORUMS!

If you require an accommodation for your participation in a scheduled open forum, please contact the Student Ability Success Center at either (619) 594-6473 or [email protected].

For students who are unable to attend a scheduled open forum, you may come to SDSU Testing Services starting Monday, October 28th through Friday, November 15th (except for Monday, November 11th). Students can drop in between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm. Please bring your RedID Card and plan on being there for 45 minutes to watch the full presentation and to complete your feedback form.
