Department Overview

Budget & Finance is a department under Financial Operations, in the Division of Business & Financial Affairs. The department is responsible for developing and supporting the planning and budgeting processes for the university's support (General Fund, Lottery Fund, and Special Funds) and capital budgets. The goal of these processes is to provide the President, the President's Budget Advisory Committee (PBAC), and the university community with the data analyses, forecasts, and information necessary to support decisions as to the most appropriate allocation and use of fiscal resources. Additionally, the office is tasked to develop and implement budgetary policies and procedures to ensure fiscal control and responsibility, and is to be the primary source of budgetary information and reporting for both internal and external constituencies. The office, as determined by the Vice President of Business & Financial Affairs, also reviews budgetary matters as they relate to the university auxiliaries.
