Capital Project Management
Delegation of Authority
SDSU has delegated authority from CSU Chancellor’s Office, Capital Planning, Design and Construction (CPDC) to locally plan and manage all capital outlay projects. This facilitates the selection of design professionals and the bidding and awarding of contracts for major capital projects. It also speeds invoicing and change order processing as compared to centrally managed projects.
Inter-Departmental Authority
Planning, Design and Construction works in cooperation with:
- Facilities Services to implement minor capital outlay projects and monitor design and construction standards. Facilities Services trades are involved in capital project completion and acceptance, and assume custody of record drawings and manuals.
- Academic Planning to project and respond to enrollment growth by incorporating it in campus expansion and renovation planning.
- Contract & Procurement Management, Budget and Finance and Accounting Services to assure proper management of capital budget resources.
- Public Safety, Material Management and other departments to maintain space data and facility records, for use by academic departments, as the basis for space allocation, personnel and material tracking and maintenance.
