The Payroll staff strives to ensure the financial integrity of the university's faculty, staff and student compensation.
We are responsible for the areas of payroll operations pertaining to establishing and monitoring leave accruals, maintaining the employment history database, and processing disability payments, levies, and garnishments-all in compliance with federal, state, and CSU policies.
Congress has passed and the President has signed into law the Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011 (H.R. Bill 3765), for all wages paid through February 29, 2012 (a two month extension). Due to the late action of Congress, employee pay warrants dated January 1, 2012 were issued using the 6.2% social security rate and therefore offsetting adjustments are necessary.
Please see the FAQ’s regarding how the offsetting adjustments will be processed by the State Controller’s Office. Also, please continue to visit our website for future updates.
Recent banking regulations regarding direct deposits via Automated Clearing House (ACH) into U.S. financial institutions where any portion of the check is forwarded to a financial institution outside the jurisdiction of the U.S. requires additional information not currently on file with the State Controller’s Office.
If any portion of your pay is direct deposited and forwarded to a financial institution outside U.S. jurisdiction, you must contact the State Controller’s Office Direct Deposit Unit at (916) 327-5023.
