Fee Waivers and the CSU Application for Admission

Skip Navigation Text.

Employees or their dependents may submit a CSU $55 Application Fee Waiver to waive the cost of one California State University admission fee. It is important to note that the fee waiver process is separate from the university application process. Fee waiver approval does not guarantee admission into the university.

How to Apply for a Fee Waiver for the CSU $55 University Admission Fee

For all dependents and employees who are taking Career Development courses:

Once the form is approved, the Benefits Office will Fax a copy to the appropriate Enrollment Services Office and a copy to the employee. When the designated CSU receives the approved Fee Waiver Application, the fees will be adjusted. You are responsible for ensuring that you or your dependent has completed all enrollment requirements.

Please note that employees participating in Work Related Courses are not required to submit a CSU $55 Application Fee Waiver Form.

For employees who have already submitted an application via CSU Mentor and paid the application fee:

The Benefits Office will Fax the form to the Cashier’s Office and you will be reimbursed. During peak periods reimbursement may take a month or longer.

If you or your dependent is accepted into the University:

When applicants are admitted to the university, a second form (either the Employee Fee Waiver Form or the Dependent Fee Waiver Form) must be submitted for waiving the cost of courses and other Miscellaneous Fees.
