Flexible Benefits
Flexible benefits plans help you save money by allowing you to pay for certain eligible medical and childcare expenses with pre-tax dollars. The tax savings help offset the impact of these expenses on your disposable income. Eligible employees must enroll within 60 days of employment/eligibility or a change in status event. If enrollment forms are received by the State Controller’s Office by the 10th of the month, the effective date is the first of the following month. Forms received after the 10th of the month push the effective date to the first of the second month following eligibility.
Employees are required to reenroll every open enrollment to participate during the following calendar year. Open enrollment is held every September-October for participation in the following calendar year.
