Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

The HRIS Office of Human Resources is responsible for managing the campus human resource information systems as well as providing departmental desktop support to the staff of Human Resources.

General information
  • HCM System — the HCM system is utilized campus-wide in support of employee services including benefits, time and labor, workforce development, position management, labor cost distribution, recruitment solutions, employee and manager self service, and workforce administration.

  • MarkView 170 Systems — Markview 170 Systems is the SDSU departmental records imaging system housing all employee personnel records. The HRIS Manager serves as University Custodian of Records for employee personnel records.

  • Oracle HRMS — Oracle HRMS system provides limited HR data in support of the University’s financial systems and is updated by the HRIS Office via daily and weekly interfaces.

  • CMS Project Implementation — SDSU implemented the CMS HCM system August 14, 2006, for the core modules of Recruitment Solutions, Benefits Administration, Position Management, Labor Cost Distribution, and Workforce Administration and Development. Employee and Manager Self Service modules were implemented September 6, 2006. In Spring, 2007, we plan to implement the Absence Management module. HRIS staff provides ongoing training for systems users for the core modules, as well as workshops for new employees and managers who wish to utilize the self-service features available to employees. A schedule of ongoing training and workshops will be available soon.
