Oracle/MarkView Critical Patch Updates
Effective Mon., Mar. 5, 2007
The most recent quarterly Oracle Critical Patch Updates applicable to our campus’ Oracle financial applications and MarkView Imaging are scheduled to be applied to the Oracle Financials production and reporting environments the weekend of Mar. 3-4, 2007.
This update requires a new version of the Oracle Jinitiator software (for accessing Oracle financials). It also includes a new version of Java for MarkView, which is included in the installation of the Oracle Jinitiator software. The first time you use Oracle after the Critical Patch Updates are applied to the Oracle financials production and reporting environments (Mar. 3-4), you will be prompted to administrator level access rights on your desktop so that the software can fully install. Instructions for this installation are forthcoming (see Oracle Apps Upgrade & JInitiator Update). Please be aware beginning Mon. morning, Mar. 5, the new version of the Oracle Jinitiator software will be required for accessing Oracle financials and MarkView imaging. Internet Explorer Recommended Settings
Oracle Apps & MarkView should be run using Microsoft’s web browser, “Internet Explorer” version 6.0, on a PC with the Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating system. In addition, IE must be pre-configured for the applications to run correctly. For instructions, download the document, Optimizing Internet Explorer for Oracle Applications & MarkView Imaging for Windows or Recommended IE Settings for Macintosh.

Need an account & password to access Oracle Apps & MarkView? You’ll need to complete the “Oracle Applications/MarkView Imaging Account Access Request” form to obtain an account.
