Oracle Applications Upgrade & JInitiator Update
Please Note: Oracle Applications requires installation of Oracle's JInitiator version 1.3.1.26. To install the JInitiator, you’ll need administrator rights. If you do not have administrator rights, or if you’re not sure whether you have administrator rights, contact desktop support. Before beginning the Oracle JInitiator installation, please ensure that the appropriate user and browser permission settings are in place:
- Software should be installed on the desktop using local administrator rights
- Configure Internet Explorer (for Win 2000 and Win XP), according to the instructions outlined in the document, “Optimizing Internet Explorer” for Windows
or for Mac.
Download and print the installation instructions, Installing Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.26. Familiarize yourself with the update procedure and follow the steps outlined in the document to install the JInitiator. If you have any questions, contact the LEAP Help Desk at ext. 4-0899.

Hardware Requirements
Oracle performance is sensitive to CPU speed. Users should follow guidelines for recommended desktop requirements as published by the Minimum Workstation Standards at SDSU.
