Project Timelinefor a Centralized Implementation |
||
Lifecycle PhasesSDSU is planning to go live with most of the software being implemented on August 14, 2006, but in a “centralized” implementation whereby the first users of the system will primarily all be operational HR staff. As we gain knowledge and expertise in the software, we intend to move to a more decentralized mode whereby campus users can begin using the system in a scoped, advantageous manner. Below is a high-level project timeline showing the Oracle Compass Methodology that reflects the major “phases” of the implementation lifecycle: (AM = Absence Mgmt; T/L = Time & Labor; both by phase color)StrategiesForemost, SDSU is striving to implement the HCM suite of applications without customizations and extensions where possible; additionally, teams are making use of this opportunity to, when warranted, redesign business processes with the goal of achieving overall functional efficiency for the University.
