| Category | Job Task Description |
|---|---|
| Category 1 | Tasks that involve occupational exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. |
| Category 2 | Tasks that involve no occupational exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category 1 procedures. |
| Category 3 | Tasks that involve no occupational exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and Category 1 tasks are not a condition for employment. |
Table 1 presents a listing of job classifications identified to date that may be assigned to Categories 1 or 2. This list can be used as a guideline for categorization. Actual determinations for specific employees must be performed by EH&S and the applicable supervisor.
