High-end Workstation

When to Purchase

 

 

If the intended user performs any of the following tasks, ADS recommends the purchase of a High-End Workstation. These guidelines however are intended as a guide, not the sole justification for a high-end workstation purchase. The department may have a valid justification falling outside the bounds of these criteria.

  • Software development, such as programming or database creation
  • Use of large data sets or advanced statistical procedures
  • Graphically intensive applications, such as Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop, or Dreamweaver
  • Storage of massive amounts of data, historical files, or backup media
