October 2004 Specification

The October 2004 Standard Desktop Software suite requires a genuine Intel processor, running Win 2000 Professional installed on an NTFS-formatted hard drive. When purchasing new equipment, you’ll need to meet the minimum specifications listed below. These criteria will accommodate normal, business data processing applications. (Review high-end workstation standards.)

• Processor — Intel 2.66 GHz or greater Pentium 4 processor
• System Board Intel Motherboard
• Memory — 512 MB or greater RAM
• NIC — 10/100 Base-T, Wake-up on LAN
• Hard Drive — 80 to 120 GB hard drive, or greater
• Optical Drive— 52X24X52 CD-RW Internal Drive; suggested manufacturer is Plextor, or comparable
• Additional Drives —1.44 MB Floppy
• Video Card — 64 to 128 MB or greater RAM to support 1024X768 resolutions, with a DVI interface or AGP 4x compliant connector
• Mouse — PS-2 Wheel or USB Optical
• Keyboard — PS-2 compatible
• USB Ports — two front panel ports and up to four rear ports
• System Form Factor — either desktop or tower system meeting the ATX or mATX specification system board, tower case, and power supply standards
• Monitor — Intel 17-in. or greater LCD display
• Surge Protector — EMI/RFI filtering capability with 6 outlets, or UPS-type device for high-end workstations
• Extended Warranty — three years covering parts and labor
