Bloodborne Pathogen

The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (CalOSHA) Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Standard (8CCR 5193) applies to all employees who could "reasonably anticipate," as a result of performing their job tasks, contact blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). The CalOSHA BBP Standard protects employees who work in occupations where they are at risk of exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
