Employee and Dependent Fee Waiver Program Updates

Date: February 20, 2007
To: Faculty & Staff
From: Christine Delgado, Center for Human Resources Director
Re: Employee and Dependent Fee Waiver Program Updates

The Center for Human Resources is pleased to announce that information on the Fee Waiver Program has been updated and can be found on the Training & Development Fee Waiver web page. This program allows eligible employees, or their dependents, to participate in CSU general fund courses at reduced rates.

Simplified application forms are now available for faculty and staff to use when applying for this benefit. Fee Waiver Applications need to be submitted each semester. Please note we will now be adhering to the following Fee Waiver submission deadlines:

  • Fall — Jun. 1 to Jul. 15
  • Spring — Oct. 1 to Nov. 15
  • Summer — Apr. 1 to May 15

Take a moment to learn more about the program and eligibility requirements in order to fully utilize this benefit. Recent contract changes for CSUEU employees (Units 2, 5, 7, and 9) now define dependents as children/stepchildren under the age of 25. All other dependents qualify if they are under the age of 23 (with certain restrictions and exceptions). CSUEU employees with qualifying dependents may submit fee waiver applications by Mar. 15, 2007 to request reimbursement for fees paid for Spring 2007 semester. As a reminder, if an employee is using the benefit, their dependent is not eligible to receive it during the same semester.

Questions regarding the Fee Waiver Program can be directed to Melanie Doyle, Training & Professional Development Manager, at ext. 4-2449.
