Payroll & Compensation

Academic faculty members are paid based on the duration of their appointment.

• Faculty appointed for one semester are paid in six equal installments. Those appointed for the fall semester are paid September through February. Spring semester appointments are paid February through July.

• Tenured and tenure-track faculty, as well as temporary faculty appointed for an academic year are paid in 12 equal installments (September through August). They receive five consecutive checks for the fall semester, followed by six consecutive spring checks, and during the August pay period, are issued a final check for the previous fall semester.
  

Important: The academic pay plan may change under certain conditions, such as:

• An employee starting late in the semester
• Mid-month or mid-year time-base changes
• Leaves (leave without pay, difference in pay, sabbatical)
• Docks
