The Employment and Classification unit provides consultation to the University community in the areas of recruitment, performance management and evaluation process, and classification and compensation.  The Employment and Classification unit collaborates with departments to address organizational changes and current and future staffing requirements; advises, develops and updates existing job descriptions and conducts classification reviews; advises managers on various compensation issues; and provides guidance in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, union contracts, and state and federal employment laws.
