Applicants Currently Employed at SDSU

If you are an SDSU employee applying for a job, please pick up your Oracle PeopleSoft HR user name and password from the HRIS Office before you proceed. The office is located in the Extended Studies Center, Room 413, at 5701 Hardy Avenue. For more information see, Account Access & Passwords.

External Applicants/Non-SDSU Applicants

If you are a new applicant, welcome! We suggest that you register (create a user name and password) and create your profile now. However, you may search our job postings without registering. You will be required to register before you can apply for a position. User names and passwords are case sensitive. Please keep a record of this information for future use.

Using the On-line Application System

  • Do not use the back button — Forward and back browser buttons do not function within the application and you will loose data you have entered. Please use the application navigational links to move between pages.

  • Adding attachments to your application — You may attach a resume, cover letter, transcripts, letters of recommendation, or other documents to your application. We recommend that each attachment contain your name and the recruitment number of the job for which you are applying. Human Resources cannot accept hard copy information. You may copy and paste your resume into your application, but for best results we suggest that you attach it.

  • Returning applicants — Once you have registered, you may return to our web site and log in to edit your existing application, to change your preferences and searches, or to apply for new jobs without re-entering your application information.

  • Forget your user name and password? — If you are not an SDSU employee and have forgotten your user name or password, you can request via the Careers page that it be sent to the email address you provided in your profile. If you did not provide an email address in your profile, you will need to establish a new user name and password and begin the application process again. SDSU employees should contact the BIS Help Desk at (619) 594-0899 to have your password reset.

  • Communications regarding your application — If you provide an email account in your profile, you will receive an email to confirm your application. You will not receive any unsolicited emails from San Diego State University. You may obtain a free email account through various sources, such as Yahoo or Hotmail.

  • Viewing your application — You may view the applications you have submitted by logging in and viewing your history on the My Careers page.

SDSU is a Title IX employer and does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, age, disability or veteran status, including veterans of the Vietnam era.
