Aztec Recreation Center

Aztec Recreation Center. The ARC has a fitness room, weight training room, group exercise classes, cardio room, climbing wall and multi-purpose gyms. Some of the programs and services employees may be interested in include:

• Certified personal trainers. Not sure where to start? Personal trainers are available to help you develop a workout program that is just right for you.
• Aztec Aquaplex. The Aquaplex has a 50-meter pool, recreation pool, and hydrotherapy spa. Water aerobics classes are offered as well as adult and youth programs and lessons.
• Aztec Adventures which provides leadership, transportation, food, camping equipment and more for Whale Watching, Sea Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Yoga Retreats, Fly Fishing and many other adventures.>
• Bowling. When is the last time you went bowling? ARC members receive free unlimited bowling when lanes are available. Non-ARC members still receive reasonable rates for open bowling.
• Fit for Fun. This 13-week adult exercise program is specifically designed for faculty and staff and focuses on cardiovascular and muscular strength, balance and flexibility, and overall health and well-being.
• CPR/AED and First Aid. Learn everything you need to know to be a basic CPR/AED and First Aid rescuer all in one day. This is the perfect class for families, friends, and anyone wanting to learn safety tips and procedures.
• Membership pricing. SDSU employees receive a discounted rate for joining the ARC (see “affiliate” rate).

Children’s Center

SDSU’s Children’s Center, for infants through preschool, gives priority to families of SDSU students, faculty and staff. Tours of the facility are offered on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. and at 9 a.m. on the 1st Wednesday of each month. No appointment is needed to attend and children are welcome.

Aztec Season Tickets

Aztec Athletics offers affordable family fun with the SDSU Faculty/Staff TEAM Card. For only $200 Faculty and Staff receive admission for up to six (6) members of their household to all regular season football and men's basketball games. With the TEAM Card, also receive admission to all regular season baseball, softball, track, volleyball, women's basketball, and men's and women's soccer games. Employees can purchase discount tickets to the following local amusement parks:

Ergonomic Evaluations

SDSU’s Environmental Health and Safety department has an ergonomic program to reduce employee’s risk of repetitive motion or other ergonomic related injuries. This includes workstation evaluations, workplace training, and implementation of ergonomic control strategies. For more information contact the Occupational Safety Manager at 619-594-2856.

Faculty-Staff Club

Faculty-Staff Club. The Faculty-Staff club provides breakfast and lunch at reasonable rates. Membership is not required, however members receive additional discounts.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services. The pharmacy at Student Health Services in Calpulli Center offers discounted prices to faculty and staff on your over-the-counter pharmacy needs. Out-of-network Optical services are also available to employees (employees are reimbursed up to $60 for eyeglass frames).

Love Library

Love Library. The Love Library is an incredible resource for faculty and staff.

• Video tour. Take a virtual tour of the library to see all that’s available to you.
• Exhibits, News and Events. This web site provides a current list of exhibits and events.

Weight Watchers at SDSU
