Dependent Fee Waiver

Dependent Eligibility and Fees Waived

Eligible faculty or staff members may transfer their fee waiver benefit to a spouse, dependent child or domestic partner. A domestic partner is eligible for the fee waiver benefit if the domestic partnership is registered through the Secretary of State’s designation process. The dependent must be enrolled in a degree or credential program at any of the California State University campuses and the courses must be for credit toward completion of that degree. The dependent is subject to the same academic standards that pertain to all students. The fee waiver benefit cannot be split between two dependents during the same semester.

Submitting a Dependent Fee Waiver Form

To submit a dependent fee waiver:

  1. Complete and sign the Dependent Fee Waiver Form. Link to download the latest version of Adobe Reader.

  2. FAX or send the application form to the Training & Professional Development office at 619-594-4013.

  3. Once the application is approved, the Training & Professional Development office will FAX a copy to the:
    • Employee
    • Enrollment Services Office (Admissions) if the dependent is applying for admission to the university
    • Cashier’s Office at SDSU or the Fee Waiver Coordinator at the campus of enrollment

  4. The employee/dependent is responsible for meeting all enrollment and registration requirements and deadlines.
