The Political Science Department at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in International Relations at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in the fall of 2008. The position includes substantial teaching responsibility for the University’s interdisciplinary program on International Security and Conflict Resolution (ISCOR). The department seeks candidates who have a well-developed research agenda and who show promise of sustained scholarly productivity. They should be qualified to teach courses in their area of specialization, as well as to help staff our core courses in international relations and ISCOR.
We seek candidates with research and teaching interests in the area of international security, broadly understood. We are open to all emphases, including ethno-national conflict, conflict resolution, critical security studies, human security, and global environmental politics. We welcome regional specialization and international fieldwork, interdisciplinary pursuits, and innovative theoretical or methodological approaches.
