The Department of Finance in the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (http://www.sdsu.edu) is recruiting for two tenure-track positions in finance and related areas, although filling these positions is contingent upon State funding. Qualified applicants will have a doctoral-level degree preferably in finance completed by August ’08.
Corporate Finance: Background in financial management to teach an advanced corporate finance course at graduate level, and expertise in teaching a financial modeling course at undergraduate or graduate levels. An interest in using case studies is desirable. Recruitment at Assistant Professor rank.
International Finance: Background in international finance with expertise in teaching courses in international finance at undergraduate and graduate levels. An interest in using case studies is desirable. Recruitment at Assistant Professor rank.
Qualified applicants must have the potential for a record of teaching excellence and quality scholarship. Quality scholarship as evidenced by a portfolio of research activities including publications in appropriate high-ranking, finance or related journals is required.
The College of Business Administration enrolls approximately 6,000 undergraduate business majors and over 700 graduate students pursuing both the MBA and Master of Science degrees. The Finance Department comprises 15 full-time tenure-track faculty members. At the undergraduate level the Department offers B.S. degrees in Finance, Financial Services, and Real Estate. At the graduate level the Department offers M.S. degrees with concentrations in Finance, Financial and Tax Planning, and Real Estate.
Several members of the Department faculty will attend the Financial Management Association Meetings in Orlando in October 2007 and wish to schedule meetings with interested candidates who will be attending the FMA Meetings. Real Estate Program, Department of Finance

The Real Estate Program in the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (http://www.sdsu.edu) is recruiting for the Corky McMillin Chair in Real Estate. This position is an advanced rank, tenure-track appointment in the Department of Finance. Salary commensurate with experience.
Qualified applicants will have a doctoral-level degree appropriate for Real Estate, a strong teaching record in a real estate program that includes experiential learning (internships, workshops, case studies, etc.) in the curriculum, a national reputation, and an established research program with a record of publications in leading real estate journals and research capabilities and interests in areas applicable to San Diego and California, and interest and experience in curriculum and program development and working with the real estate industry. This person will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Real Estate Program in addition to teaching and research.
The Real Estate Program at San Diego State University has been among the leading such programs in the California for more than forty years. It includes degrees at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels, although new majors are currently being accepted only for the B.S. degree. A group of prominent alumni and industry leaders have formed an advisory board to support expansion of the program through significant financial contributions and implementation of a new business plan.
