Faculty Position in Educational Leadership (Assistant/Associate)

Educational Leadership. The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) teach courses in the core educational leadership areas at the master’s/credential and doctoral level; 2) supervise students in fieldwork experiences; 3) advise doctoral and masters students; 4) maintain an active research agenda; 5) participate fully in the collaborative leadership of the department, college and university; 6) work in off-campus school-university partnership programs. The successful candidate’s appointment will be at a level commensurate with his/her record in teaching, scholarly activity, and service. Diversity among our students and faculty is highly valued by the department and contributes to our effectiveness in preparing leaders to work in California's public schools and community colleges.

Required Attributes: Doctorate in Educational Leadership or related field; formal leadership experience in PK-12 education; strong commitment to research and publication; a willingness to teach and direct off-campus programs; ability to communicate effectively in culturally-diverse settings; broad background in instructional leadership, school-community relations, organizational policy and management, and/or outcomes assessment; experience with and/or commitment to using technology as a tool for teaching and learning, course development, and instructional delivery; and demonstrated excellence in teaching educational leadership courses.
Preferred Attributes: Experience in supervising the field work of educational leadership candidates and the dissertation research of doctoral students; demonstrated successful leadership in educational settings serving diverse student populations; demonstrated successful leadership in university settings; commitment to shared decision-making; experience in web-based instruction.
