SDSU WEB APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The SDSU Application is now available via the Web. Please follow the instructions below.

STEP 1 You may submit your application for current vacancy/vacancies. When applying for a current vacancy, your application must be received in our office by the specified closing time and date (if closing date is specified). If a position is open until filled, this means application referrals are generated on a continuous basis until the position has been filled.

STEP 2 The information you provide on the application is used to evaluate your related experience, education and background for the available position and, therefore, it must be as complete as possible. The space provided for Job Duties is limited to 575 characters, including punctuation and spacing. You should be concise and abbreviate if necessary to include all essential information. Please refer to the "APPLICATION PROCEDURES" portion of the Vacancy Announcement to determine if a resume and/or an application are required. Resumes will not be considered as a substitute when a completed application is required.

STEP 3 To access the Web application form click on the Application Icon at the bottom of this page. Follow the directions at the top of the form. You must submit a completed application for each vacancy. You may apply for all the positions for which you feel you are qualified. If you wish to apply for multiple positions, be sure that each application form you submit has the distinct announcement number for which you are applying. The Application document is in Rich Text Format which is compatible with most word processing software applications.

IMPORTANT! If you are using Word 2002/03, the Application for Employment may print with document markup codes displaying "Field Code Changed" next to each line of the form. This is due to settings in Word 2002/03. To print the document without the codes, you can do one of two things: 1) Change a setting in Word - Open the Application for Employment in Word 2002/03; on the menu bar, go to Tools>Options>Track Changes tab; under the Balloons section, uncheck "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" and then print the document; OR 2) Change it when you print - On the menu bar, go to File> Print and at the Print What: drop-down menu displaying "Document showing markup", change it to "Document" and click OK button to print.

Please let us know if you have any problems accessing the form.
