Administration, Rehabilitation and Postsecondary Education: This interdisciplinary department offers the following graduate degrees: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Community College/Postsecondary Education, Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership (postsecondary); Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Leadership in Student Affairs; Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling; and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education. The Department includes the Interwork Institute, an auxiliary program for conducting innovative education, training and research in promoting the integration of all individuals into all aspects of school, work, family, and community life.

Position Description:
- Teach graduate and doctoral level courses in community college and postsecondary education leadership.
- Work with graduate students on dissertation, thesis and other major research projects.
- Demonstrate continued professional development including obtaining extramural support for one's research agenda.
- Develop and maintain an active research, publication, and program development agenda in leadership in community college and postsecondary education.
- Participate in program governance at the Department, College, and University levels, as well as contribute to one's professional organizations in community college at the local, state, and national levels.
- Recruit, advise and mentor graduate students in leadership in community college and postsecondary education.
- Work closely with faculty in other programs within the Department, the College of Education and professionals within the community colleges to facilitate student-learning outcomes in leadership in student affairs.
Recommended Background for all Faculty Applicants:
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to collaboration with departmental colleagues and development of the self and the student. In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
- success, creativity, and leadership in providing graduate education to diverse and underrepresented groups in postsecondary education settings.
- experience in community college and postsecondary education practices and/or administration within postsecondary institutions or community colleges.
- experience in teaching community college and/or postsecondary education courses at the graduate level.
- a strong commitment to diversity and multicultural education in community college and postsecondary education.
- a commitment to identification and validation of student learning outcomes in graduate education.
- a demonstrated ability to present and publish research and scholarly papers relevant to the field of leadership in community college or postsecondary education.
- an understanding of the integration of the curricular and the co-curricular components in the development of student learners.
- experience with writing, obtaining and/or serving as a staff member or principal investigator in grant and contract funded efforts in community college and postsecondary education.
- an ability to integrate mediated learning and other applications of instructional technology and distance education in teaching and research.
- experience in building collaborative department, institutional and community partnerships to support student experiences and the development of research and service opportunities.
- Experience with working with graduate students on dissertations, theses, or major research projects.
- a willingness to become actively involved with local, state, regional, and national organizations concerned with community college or postsecondary education.
Candidates are expected to:
- possess an earned doctoral degree, from an accredited university in community college and postsecondary education, adult education, or closely related area.
- develop and sustain strong working relationships with ARPE, the College of Education, community college and postsecondary institutions, and appropriate local, national, and international organizations.
