The SDSU Police Department provides services for events at Cox Arena and the Open Air Theatre, for University Open House, Future Aztecs Day, Commencement, KPBS and for various other campus events. All on-campus events are subject to SDSU Police Department services being required. Parking/Traffic ManagementThe SDSU Police Department provides all necessary traffic services to ensure that patrons attending events are directed to available parking. Events may be staffed by the SDSU Police Department personnel and/or by outside vendors hired by the SDSU Police Department. Community Service Officers (CSO)The SDSU Police Department provides parking, traffic and security services for department events. Our Community Service Officers provide services for events such as Career Fair, Cox Arena, OAT and Communcement functions. University Police ServiceThe SDSU Police Department provides both police and security services for campus events. Police officers are typically hired for large-scale events, events where alcohol is being sold, and in some other special circumstances. For events that do not require a police officer but do require some lesser level of security, our Community Service Officers or an outside agency are hired.
