Grounds Maintenance Staff

Grounds Maintenance staff are responsible for 248.5 acres, including the 8 acres of the Imperial Valley Campus. Gardeners, grounds workers and irrigation specialists are responsible for maintenance, service requests, irrigation, repair and replacement of landscaping, as well as all outdoor physical education facilities. Irrigation Specialists are in the process of upgrading SDSU’s irrigation system to more efficiently regulate water usage.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Problems affecting grounds areas (such as broken sprinkler heads, falling branches, or tripping hazards) should be reported immediately to the Work Control Center (ext. 44754).
  • Questions regarding landscaping and grounds maintenance may be directed to Grounds (ext. 46000).

Plant Donations

Individuals, departments or groups wishing to donate trees or shrubs may make arrangements through Grounds (ext. 46000) in advance of purchase.
