Doors — Hardware, Locks, and Keys

Maintenance / Repair

Campus door hardware, lock, or key problems should be directed to Physical Plant Work Control Center staff (ext. 4-4754) or e-mail. Problems with doors within university housing facilities should be reported to the Office of Housing Administration (ext. 4-5742) or Public Safety Key Issue (ext. 4-1992). Service to departmental furniture/equipment locks may be requested on a cost-recovery basis by submitting a Service Request.

Lock Installation / Re-keying

To request the installation of a new lock or the re-keying of an existing lock, a Service Request must be submitted.

Key Issue

To report lost, found, or broken keys, or to request that keys be issued, contact Public Safety Key Issue (ext. 4-1992).

Stand-Alone Locksets

A “stand alone” lockset is defined as a mortise digital door locking device that will allow entry based on a manual push-button coded entry and allow entry via a key override. Additional features, such as a proximity access card reader, will be available in the future. This type of lockset is for use on interior doors only.

The initial installation is performed by Physical Plant after submission of a funded Work Order form. The requesting department is responsible for subsequent programming and maintenance of these locksets. Physical Plant will perform programming/re-programming functions and maintenance on a re-charge basis for a requesting department.
