Access Control

Overview

The overall responsibility of the Access Control System for the university is shared by Public Safety and Physical Plant. Public Safety manages the cards issued, and programs the parameters for opening and locking doors. Physical Plant maintains all of the equipment associated with the access system.

Installation Requests

All requests for new installation or modification of existing systems are reviewed by Public Safety. The purchase of any card access system must be approved by both Physical Plant and Public Safety. The requesting department must forward a Work Order to Physical Plant to develop the project.

Access Control Problems

Access control problems should be reported to Public Safety (extension 41991) for evaluation. Hardware failures are referred to Physical Plant for repair service.
