Allocating Academic and Administrative Space on Campus

Policy

Facilities Planning, Design & Construction is entrusted with the allocation and use of academic and administrative space on campus. All changes in space assignment that affect campus capacity must be reviewed by Facilities Planning, Design & Construction and reported to CPDC (Chancellor's Office Capital Planning, Design & Construction).

 

Space Data Inventory

Facilities Planning, Design & Construction maintains the space data inventory of all campus facilities in coordination with the CSU Space and Facilities DataBase (SFDB). This measurement of campus capacity is the benchmark for enrollment-based expansion and renovation. We analyze the impacts of enrollment growth in comparison with campus capacity and advise campus administration on space use, provide feasibility studies, and recommend plans and policies for space utilization.
