Safety Coordinators

Safety Coordinators are trained in emergency response and play a vital role in the campus safety structure and in building evacuations. A Safety Coordinator is appointed by each campus department. They, in turn, may assign one or more floor monitors for each floor their department occupies.

In an emergency situation on campus, the Safety Coordinators in your area assist in:

  1. Evacuating the building
  2. Guiding building residents to a designated emergency assembly point
  3. Contacting department supervisors to account for employees

Know your assigned assembly point, along with the Safety Coordinators in your area. If these are unknown, contact Environmental Health and Safety at ext. 4-6778 or 619-594-6778.
