IV. RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Environmental Health & Safety is responsible to:

  • Prepare, maintain, and update the written Industrial Truck Safety Program to ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA requirements.

B. Managers and Supervisors are responsible to:

  • Ensure that employees adhere to the operating rules.
  • Ensure that the operating rules are posted and enforced.
  • Ensure that every employee who operates a powered industrial truck is authorized and that they have been instructed and evaluated in the operating rules prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck, except for training purposes.
  • Enforce the operating rules and any other safety requirements as applicable to the work environment.
  • Arrange initial and refresher training for employees.
  • Maintain a list of authorized industrial truck operators.

C. Employees are responsible to:

  • Comply with the operating rules and all elements in this written program.
  • Report any concerns to their Manager or Supervisor immediately.
