Desktop Application Installation Policy & Procedures

Standard Desktop Applications

The following are the approved applications that ADS will install at the current version level, specified in the licensing agreement owned and held by Business and Financial Affairs. The following standard applications are licensed:

  • Acrobat Reader
  • Altiris
  • Counterspy Anti-spyware
  • Eudora
  • McAfee Anti-virus
  • Meeting Maker
  • Microsoft Office 2003
  • Oracle Jinitiator
  • MarkView Web Client
  • WinZip

 

Site License

Upon receipt of a Service Request, ADS will install non-standard applications that have a campus volume or site license. Indicate the application version and license-keys on the SR. The following is a typical list of non-standard applications which can be installed by ADS:

  • Oracle Application Desktop Integrator (ADI)
  • Attachmate
  • Brio

 

Department-owned

ADS will install additional non-standard computer applications under the condition that the department purchases the software and holds the license for it. (To facilitate installation, your ADS technician will need the installation instructions, installation keys and license numbers included with the software purchase.) Some examples of this type of software is:

  • FileMaker
  • Secure CRT & Secure FX
  • Toad
  • Crystal Reports
  • VISIO
